Biography
Arizza Nocum, 23 years old, the Philippines. As the daughter of a Catholic father and a Muslim mother, Arizza grew up experiencing prejudice from both communities. This is what inspired her to use education as a tool to promote peace and tolerance. She founded KRIS, an NGO that builds libraries and provides scholarships to schoolchildren living in areas affected by violence. She has been recognised as one of the 100 most influential Filipino women in the world and was awarded the ‘Young Women in Public Affairs’ prize by Zonta International.
