Unveiling of the portrait of former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan

Kofi Annan attended a ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters on 12 October 2010, to mark the unveiling of his portrait by British artist John Keane. Mr. Annan, the seventh Secretary-General of the Organization, for his part saluted “colleagues and friends” who worked with him “during those difficult periods”  and added that “if today my picture hangs here, it is a symbol for what we all did.”
