Remembering Kofi Annan

18 August 2019 marks the first anniversary since the passing of Kofi Annan. We have been moved by the many tributes, commemorative events and messages of support from all over the world.

In the words of the Annan Family:

“One year has passed since our beloved husband, father and best friend left us. His wisdom and goodness of heart continue to guide our steps. We have been sustained by the outpouring of love and support for him and the many remembrances honouring him and his vision for a better world. We are deeply grateful to you all.” 

In the words of Kofi Annan Foundation President, Alan Doss:

“Kofi Annan was more than just the Chairman of this Foundation. He was the Foundation. His departure, as heartbreaking as it was, has reminded us to move closer together and double up on our efforts to work for a fairer, more peaceful world, with optimism and determination. That was the Kofi Annan way.”
