We are delighted to present the 2024-2025 cohort of Kofi Annan scholars of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann graduate programme at Mansfield College, Oxford.
These fully-funded scholarships have been named in honour of the former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Kofi Annan (1938-2018), who officially opened the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at Mansfield in June 2018.
“With Kofi Annan’s deep commitment to education for the benefit of international peace, collaboration and development, and our proud link with him, we could think of no better name to achieve that intention.”
– Helen Mountfield KC, Principal, Mansfield College.
Since 2020, Mansfield has partnered with the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme to offer, for the 5 years, seven fully-funded Kofi Annan Scholarships at Mansfield per academic year.
Corinne Momal-Vanian, Executive Director of the Kofi Annan Foundation, said, “Congratulations to the 2024-2025 Kofi Annan Scholars. Kofi Annan once said that education is a human right with immense power to transform. The Scholars carry this power with them and continue to embody the purpose of this scholarship: educating people to make the world a better place. I also extend my deep gratitude to Mansfield College’s leadership and Mr Fisher for their continuous generosity and commitment and for making this a reality.”
The Kofi Annan Scholars are part of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann graduate programme, which aims to provide outstanding university graduates and professionals from developing and emerging economies with the opportunity to pursue study at Oxford.
