How can we measure ‘peace’?

The Kofi Annan Foundation, Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, Interpeace, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue and Geneva Centre for Security Policy are hosting an event ‘Measuring Peace: Principles, Practices & Politics’ a presentation of the new book by Professor Richard Caplan.

Join us September 26, 2019 in Auditorium A2 at the Graduate Institute (Maison de la Paix) in Geneva from 18h30 to 20h. Entrance is free.

The presentation of Professor Caplan’s latest book will be followed by a panel discussion (30mins) and an audience Q&A session (30mins).

The panel discussion will feature the following speakers:

– Dr Andreas Hirblinger, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP)

About Richard Caplan

Richard Caplan is Professor of International Relations at the University of Oxford and Fellow of Linacre College.

Half of post-war countries lapse back into conflict in the first decade after the end of fighting. Professor Caplan’s book looks at what tools are effective in measuring progress towards building lasting peace and provides evidence-based policy recommendations on how to enhance peacebuilding efforts.
