Originally, a medical doctor; sucked into Uganda’s post-Idi Amin political/ military struggles that still continue 40 years later.
Participated in Uganda’s 1981-86 insurgency that brought President Museveni to power. Served as Minister in Museveni’s government and later in Uganda military (UPDF), retiring as Colonel in 2000.
Four times presidential candidates 2001, 2006, 2011 & 2016.
Founding Party leader of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Uganda’s largest opposition party 2005-2012.
