Solar for Phillippines

On 21 November 2013, the WakaWaka Foundation launched a campaign to bring solar devices – providing light and energy for (phone) charging – to the survivors of the typhoon in the Philippines.

Mr. Annan: “The Solar for Philippines campaign brings light into darkness in a sustainable and energy efficient way. It will hopefully soon be available to Typhoon victims in Philippines. It may well prove to be a viable solution to people facing similar hardships in other places around the world.” A group of World Economic Forum Global Shapers from Ottowa, Amsterdam and Geneva presented the WakaWaka solar device to Mr. Annan.
